Janet Sharkis brings to the board executive director, development director and program director experience with leadership in government, nonprofit and corporate settings such as Bonterra (a nonprofit software company), The University of Texas at Austin, and The Texas Health and Human Services Commission. 

Her expertise encompasses education, mental health, substance use, child welfare, disabilities, social justice, community mobilization, evaluation, training, systems improvement, public policy, strategic planning, operations, and grant writing. She has co-authored studies published in peer-reviewed journals, turned around struggling organizations and implemented nationally recognized interventions.  Passionate about improving equity, boosting the missions of nonprofits and building recognition for their extraordinary work, Janet is excited to serve Mission Capital.
