Revenue Generator is Back!
In today’s unpredictable nonprofit environment, it can be a struggle to generate the funds needed to run your organization. Maintaining what you offer - let alone expanding the numbers you serve or deepening your impact - can be challenging to do through traditional sources such as grants and individual donations alone.
Revenue Generator (RevGen) is an exclusive Mission Capital program designed to help nonprofits explore and evaluate new earned revenue or fee-for-service opportunities to meet their missions. It’s been a year since we last offered this in-depth training, and we’re excited to relaunch it in partnership with Social Venture Partners – Austin!
The Experience
In just one month, your team will go through an intensive “design sprint” to build out your potential earned revenue opportunity, test it with potential customers, refine it, create an initial budget plan, and pitch the concept to a panel of local philanthropists and investors for feedback. This course is the perfect opportunity for nonprofits teams that have identified at least one earned revenue opportunity they want to assess and evaluate.
What’s different about this year’s RevGen?
This year, you’ll have the chance to go deep over two full course days instead of three half days. We hope this gives you the brain space and time to get the most out of the interactive sessions. This year’s course includes 1:1 coaching again, but the final coaching session will happen after the training ends. We hope this helps you consolidate your insights from the training into actionable next steps, with the support of an expert coach.
RevGen is a cohort-based program, limited to eight teams who will get an intimate experience and lots of individual feedback. Other benefits include:
14 hours of uninterrupted time for your leadership team to define and prototype the Earned Revenue opportunity together, validating your assumptions before sinking further resources into the project
Exposure to cutting edge content and useful tools like design thinking, rapid prototyping, the business model canvas, unit cost budgeting, and the art of the pitch
A platform to pitch your emerging idea to philanthropists and nonprofit experts and get real-time feedback
