Member Spotlight: Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation

The Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation (TVMF) is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization in Texas that leverages veterinary partnerships and financial resources in order to support the veterinary profession by providing financial assistance in times of crisis, connecting veterinarians with opportunities to serve their communities, advocating responsible animal ownership and promoting and improving the well-being of animals.

Community Impact

The TVMF is committed to supporting the veterinary profession and our communities in Texas by providing resources, education, and programs for the responsible stewardship of animals. TVMF accomplishes its mission in three ways:

Caring for Animals

  • Provide education programs advocating responsible animal ownership and the importance of veterinary care, and providing the public with knowledge and information on caring for and protecting their animals and livestock.

  • Provide financial assistance grants for families in need of life-saving or life-changing veterinary care that will save their pet from euthanasia or prolonged suffering.

Advancing the Profession

  • Supporting veterinary students at all stages of their education by providing stethoscopes to new students, sponsoring activities, providing scholarships, awards, and emergency grants.

  • Supporting programs/projects that encourage students to explore career opportunities and promote philanthropy within the profession.

Serving People

  • Ensuring the health and welfare of animals belonging to economically disadvantaged community members, through a partnership with Meals on Wheels organizations across the state, thereby preserving the human-animal bond and improving quality of life for both humans and companion animals.

  • Support the veterinary community by being the public relations and philanthropic arm of the veterinary profession.

  • Support the veterinary community by providing a contingency fund for disaster and emergency relief.
