At the beginning of each year, I like to take time to reflect on and celebrate the successes of the last year. But, as you can see, today is already February 21st. I’m clearly way behind, which should tell you something about how full our plates have been here at Greenlights, how fast we are moving, and how quickly we are growing!Nonetheless, I want to take a moment to “claim victory” on another amazing and record growth year for Greenlights! We are so grateful to you (our donors, members, clients, board, staff, and partners) for making it such a pleasure to serve the community as we do here at Greenlights. You may or may not know that in 2012 Greenlights was able to…
  • Build and launch the new 501community.org, the first-ever online collaboration community exclusively for nonprofit professionals
  • Conduct 36 consulting engagements for great nonprofits such as Habitat for Humanity, Texas Charter Schools Association, the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, National Scholarship Providers Association, Dallas CASA, Virginia Commonwealth University, and many more
  • Hold another successful Texas Nonprofit Summit, with 100% of attendees reporting that they were satisfied with the event and would attend again
  • Serve 574 members through our membership program
  • Provide professional development to more than 1,500 people
  • Launch new Evaluation and Impact Measurement consulting services, completing 7 projects in this area
  • Engage 54 member on our 501 Council who together made 3 capacity-building grants to Austin-area nonprofits
  • Conduct the largest Board Summit event ever for 500+ community leaders, resulting in dozens of new members joining area boards
  • Plan and conduct day-long collaborative learning academies for the grantees of the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation and the Applied Materials Foundation
  • Exceed our client satisfaction and impact targets, averaging 9.1 out of 10
  • Add 3 new positions to our team, bringing us to 15 amazing professionals

So as we launch into 2013 (or better yet, try to keep up with it), we will be keeping our friends and supports abreast of several exciting developments, including the launching of our intensive 2014-2016 strategic planning process, the release of several new thought-provoking research projects, the expansion of our 501(c)ommunity, and much more. Stay tuned….
