Job Summary

Foundation Communities (FC) owns and operates two Prosper Centers in Austin, Texas. At each site, community members can access free tax help, health insurance enrollment, college support services, and financial wellness programs. We are looking for a part-time Client Support Specialist to work weekday evenings and Saturdays at our Prosper Centers. The person in this role will work at the front desk to ensure that every client who calls or walks in to the Prosper Centers is able to access our programs easily. This person will also support staff and volunteers who work in the building to ensure operations run smoothly. The ideal candidates will be customer-service oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Client Support Specialist reports to the Program and Operations Manager and is responsible for:

  • Ensuring every client who comes in the door can easily access all Prosper Center programs.
  • Collaborating with other staff to facilitate and track internal referrals between programs.
  • Managing and updating the appointment scheduling system to make sure clients schedule and show up for their appointments, and making sure the system is up to date.
  • Assisting with client intake, including sign-in and intake questions.
  • Helping to manage the Prosper Center phone line, including checking voicemail, returning phone calls with 24 hours, and forwarding messages to other staff as necessary.
  • Ensuring clients complete the exit survey and schedule their next appointment before they leave.
  • Orienting volunteers to the building and making sure they have what they need.
  • Maintaining an organized front desk and helping with minor building issues as needed (e.g., ordering supplies, cleaning up minor spills, calling IT to address issues with printers).

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • The ability to speak English and Spanish fluently
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work under pressure and assist a large number of clients during our busiest seasons from November – April

Position Information: This is a part-time (15-20 hour/week) position that pays $17/hour and is based at our Prosper Center at 5900 Airport Blvd. The schedule is as follows:

  • January to April: Monday – Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00pm and Saturdays from 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • May to December: Monday – Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00pm and Saturdays from 8:30am – 1:00pm
