Emerging Leadership Academy May 2017

Strong leaders are at the heart of community problem solving. Our community needs leaders who are prepared and equipped to create lasting social change.
 
The Emerging Leadership Academy is a dynamic program for the next generation of nonprofit leaders in Central Texas. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of their leadership capacity, advance their ability to lead in the nonprofit sector and strengthen their network of nonprofit peers. The Emerging Leadership Academy delivers a full-day of professional development (9am to 6pm on Thursday, May 18, 2017), and includes an individual leadership assessment, take-home resources, the opportunity to participate in a “laser coaching” session with a certified coach, and a closing graduation event.  
  
Class size is intentionally limited to allow you to engage with and learn from your colleagues in an intimate setting. All attendees must apply. You'll walk away with insight into your leadership style, a cohort of peers, a plan for your leadership growth and a healthy dose of inspiration. 
 
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
The Emerging Leadership Academy is for nonprofit professionals who are in the first decade of their nonprofit careers, or those looking to break into the nonprofit sector.  If you are ready to gain insight into your leadership style and how to leverage it strategically, and crave new skills that will help you lead effectively, the Emerging Leadership Academy is for you!  
 
Prospective participants should apply by Noon on April 27th for the upcoming Emerging Leadership Academy on May 18, 2017. Applications are reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis so apply early! Please note, there is a limit of two leaders per organization for this Academy.
  
SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants should have:
  • A desire to strengthen yourself as a leader and advance the mission of your organization.
  • A demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development.
  • The potential to meaningfully contribute to our social sector by assuming higher and increased levels of leadership.
  • Support from your manager to be out of the office for a day-long session.

THIS COURSE INCLUDES:

  • A full day of interactive learning and peer discussion
  • A Leadership Assessment, valued at $100, to help you better understand your leadership style, strengths and areas for growth:
    • The TTI Success Insights® Behaviors/DISC Assessment was designed to increase your understanding of your leadership style. This powerful, nationally-recognized assessment tool examines the behaviors you bring to the job and the universal language of "how you act," or your observable behavior. The assessment measures how you:
      • React to problems and challenges.
      • Influence others to your point of view.
      • Respond to the pace of the environment.
      • Respond to rules and procedures set by others.
  • The Emerging Leadership Academy Sourcebook of useful information, resources and tools to support you on your leadership journey
  • The opportunity to connect with and learn alongside other emerging nonprofit leaders
  • Participation in a “laser coaching” session with a certified coach
  • A healthy lunch, as well as snacks and drinks to keep you energized
PRICE 
$295 for leaders from member organizations / $345 for leaders from non-member organizations

Mission Capital’s Learning & Leadership Offerings Refund Policy
All cancellation and refund requests must be received IN WRITING at least 2 weeks in advance of the Learning & Leadership offering. Registrants may request a refund of fees paid, minus a $50 administrative fee, by emailing briannaw@missioncapital.org. NO REFUNDS will be processed within two weeks of the event date.
