Position Details:

The Texas State Historical Association (TSHA) is looking to fill an immediate need for a Marketing and Copywriting Intern. The intern will assist the Marketing Specialist with sending email newsletter communications, creating social media posts, and updating TSHA’s online store (LegacyofTexas.com). This position is ideal for a student looking for an engaging internship experience while helping a nonprofit engage its audience and meet its fundraising goals. TSHA is happy to fill out any necessary paperwork should this internship be used to meet a school credit requirement.


  • Identify historical topics of interest for TSHA’s Especially Texan e-newsletter series
  • Identify products in TSHA’s online store related to the selected e-newsletter topic
  • Write engaging descriptions for new and existing products on TSHA’s online store
  • Assist in writing social media posts/creating content for TSHA’s Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • Assist in writing ad copy for TSHA products, events, and programs
  • Other marketing-related tasks as required



  • Current Student Pursuing a Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a Related Field
  • Interest in Texas History
